Explanation of Calculations

A calculation uses one or more measurements to calculate a new measurement.

For example: if you have a person’s height and weight (these are the input measurements), you can use those to calculate a new measurement: the BMI (this is the output measurement).

Each input measurement has its own instrument ID – this is a technical number that precisely describes which measurement it is.

The output is technically described as the scripted instrument.

Please watch this video how to efficiently look up the input instruments and output (=scripted) instruments. We work with these id’s so you can make sure you look up the correct instruments needed for the calculation, keeping the risk of using the wrong one at a minimum.
